Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Identify the thought patterns that quietly shape how you feel, and learn to gently rewrite them.
I’m Rini Sharma — a registered psychotherapist offering trauma-informed, culturally responsive care in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Together we’ll move through what feels stuck, with compassion and evidence-based practice.

For over seven years, I’ve walked alongside adults and youth as they move through depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and the quieter struggles that don’t always have a name. My work is rooted in evidence-based modalities — CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing — held inside a trauma-informed, client-centred frame.
I bring a particular care to clients from South Asian, immigrant, and gender-diverse communities. Culture isn’t an afterthought here; it’s a starting point. Whether you feel most yourself in English, Hindi, Urdu or Punjabi, we can meet there.
What I believe most: healing is rarely linear, and you don’t have to do it alone.
No single approach fits everyone. In our first sessions, we’ll shape a path that respects your story, your pace, and what you actually want from this work.

Build skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and steadier relationships.
A research-backed approach to help the nervous system finish what trauma left unfinished.
Find your own reasons for change — without pressure, judgement, or being told what to do.
A shorter-term, goal-led approach when you want forward motion on a specific concern.
Common themes clients bring — but this list is never the whole picture. If you’re unsure whether your concern fits, reach out. We’ll figure it out together.
From the heaviness that won’t lift to the highs and lows that disrupt life.
Worry that loops, panic that arrives without warning, intrusive thoughts that exhaust.
Childhood wounds, sudden losses, the long shadow of events that changed everything.
Intense emotions, unstable relationships — supported with DBT and steady care.
Substance use, gambling, gaming, overspending — without shame, with structure.
Identity shifts, immigration, partnership patterns, work that no longer fits.
Therapy isn’t a product to be optimised. It’s a relationship — and like every meaningful relationship, it needs time, honesty, and a sense that the other person is genuinely with you.

No assumptions, no scripts. The first sessions are about understanding your story — what brought you here, what’s working, and what isn’t.
You’re the expert on your life. I bring the tools and the training; together we decide the direction and the pace.
Family expectations, faith, migration, gender, language — these aren’t side notes. They live inside what you’re carrying.
I use research-backed approaches (CBT, DBT, EMDR, MI) inside a relationship that feels safe enough to actually use them.
For many South Asian and immigrant clients, the words for what hurts live in a mother tongue. Sessions can move fluidly across four languages, so the work is never lost in translation.
